Retro-colored hat

With sport weight yarn and 3,5 mm needles, CO 96 sts and join in the round.

Work ribbing k2, p2 for about ten rows.

Switch color and knit one row while increasing with nine sts overall by picking up a st between every tenth and eleventh st.
Knit three more rows and then switch color.

Knit four rows with each color. For a better transition between the colors, slip the first st of the second row of every color.

I knitted a total of 11,5 rows before i started the decreasing, and continued with the colored pattern as I decreased.

Thread yarn trough remaining sts.
